The 2016 Region 2 rally will be held in Hammondsport, NY. From June 1st, 2016 through June 6th, 2016. Hammondsport is a quaint village located at the south end of Keuka Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes country. This is the heart of New York’s wine country providing ample opportunity to tour some world class vineyards and wineries. In addition this lovely village offers sidewalk cafés, antique shops, Pottery studios, arts and crafts and much more. Also featured are some truly unique museums, the Corning glass works is nearby, along with the Rockwell museum of western art and the Glen Curtis aviation museum.

The Harrisville Deer Hunter’s Campground is located in the very southwest corner of Venango County, adjacent to Mercer and Butler Counties. There are many, many activities and things to see and do nearby in each of those counties. Here are some examples:
Mercer County: On the Mercer County border is one of the country’s largest Old Order Amish communities. Journey to a simpler era and learn about the Amish experience. Stroll through the quaint villages of New Wilmington and Volant weaving your way through authentic Amish shops.
Grove City – a college town with a beautiful campus, restaurants and many unique shops.
Grove City Premium Outlets – about 10 miles west of campground with 130 shops
Hermitage – Avenue of Flags and War on Terror Veterans Memorial
New Wilmington – a college town with Amish influences; visit the Apple Castle
Sharon – home to some of the world’s largest family owned and operated retail stores of their
kind. Including a candy store, a shoe store and a clothing store, featured on the Travel Channel, David Letterman, and more.
Volant – a village with restaurants, winery and unique Amish and Country shops
Venango County: In August 1859, in northern Venango County, Edwin L. Drake completed the world’s first commercial oil well and changed the history of the world. You can visit the location of this historic event, browsing through the museum and the grounds where a replica of Drake’s Well stands.
Emlenton – The Pumping Jack Museum & Emlenton Visitors Center
Foxburg – The American Golf Hall of Fame (can also play a round of golf at this course)
Franklin – De Bence Antique Music World- a collection of automatic musical instruments
Oil City – Venango Museum of Art, Science, and Industry
Titusville – Drake Well Museum and Park
Butler County: Contains charming small towns and quirky places such as Slippery Rock and Mars. Moraine State Park is a top attraction with its 3,225-acre Lake Arthur offering a multitude of land and water activities.
Slippery Rock – a college town with brewery and ciderworks, an alpaca farm and the Jennings Environmental Education Center which includes a portion of the national North Country Scenic Trail
Directions: exit 29 of I-80, go about 5 miles south on Rt 8, turn left onto Rt 58, go about 1.5 mi, turn left onto Maple Spring Lane.
Alternate Routes from the south: Rt 8 North from Turnpike or Pittsburgh – turn RIGHT onto Rt 58, go about 1.5 mi, turn left onto Maple Spring Lane. ; or I-79 to I-80, east to exit 29 go about 5 miles south on Rt 8, turn left onto Rt 58, go about 1.5 mi, turn left onto Maple Spring Lane; or I-79 exit 113 onto Rt 208 through Grove City to Rt 58, cross Rt 8 and go 1.5 mi to Maple Spring Lane.

The 2014 Pennsylvania state rally will be held at the South Mountain Fairgrounds in Biglerville, PA. Located just seven Miles north of historic Gettysburg, PA. The rally will run from September 4th through September 7th. This promises to be a great rally, with easy access to the Gettysburg Battlefield, Cemetery, Museum and National Military Park. The New Jersey unit recently held their installation of officers at Cherry Hill, NJ. It was well attended and a great time was had by all.
A special treat was having Eight past unit presidents in attendance.
